All our upholstery staplers come with a free box of size 3/8" staples and a swivel coupler. We recommend our #7 staplers for people who mostly work on furniture. Use our #8 upholstery stapler for canvas and vinyl jobs such as boats and restaurants. The #8 fires a larger staple (1/2") so it will require fewer staples. The #7 upholstery stapler is more popular and shoots a 3/8" wide staple.
These staplers are built strong for firing into hardwoods.
You can use these upholstery staplers for either furniture, marine, indoor, or outdoor projects. Always use stainless steel staples outside.
How to load staples. These load a bit differently than you may think:
Disconnect gun from compressor. Point nose (where the staples come out) towards the ceiling, open the magazine, and drop the staples in the empty chamber.
Maintain your upholstery stapler. Regular maintenance will make it last for years.
Waking foot sewing machine maintenance is basic, use oil and so with a staple gun. Start out with 90 lbs. pressure and don't put more through than listed on the upholstery stapler or you will blow the orings. Oil air guns through coupler after about 8 hours of use - just a few drops and then fire off a few staples to clear the excess oil. Oil included. Orings are easy to replace but don't try and pry out the parts as you will damage them! Make sure you buy #8 staples for the #8 stapler or #7 staples for #7 stapler. All our staplers shoot 4 different lengths.
Which stapler should you choose? The EZ or BEA Upholstery Stapler?
The EZ professional fine wire upholstery stapler has proven to have long term reliability. This upholstery staple gun will penetrate hardwood furniture frames, plywood and particle board. Staplers from hardware stores shoot too "thick" of a staple and can damage wooden frames. The BEA is German made and is the finest upholstery stapler for the professional. Pneumatic staple guns are the strongest and most durable type of upholstery staplers.
Walking foot sewing machine and a good pneumatic staple gun are two of the most important tools of the trade. Air staplers are some of the most versatile staplers used by upholsterers. The best thing about pneumatic guns is their affordability coupled with power. They won’t break the bank, but they will give you the strength you need to get the job done.
The strength of a pneumatic staple gun comes from the compressed air. The machine uses an air compressor to force the staple into the furniture. The amount of force behind the staple gun can be controlled by the amount of pressure coming out of the air compressor. One problem with pneumatic staple guns is that you must also invest in an air compressor. These can be expensive. For that reason, an electric upholstery stapler is probably a better choice.
Don't use a manual upholstery stapler. Get our electric stapler instead.
The last type of upholstery stapler is a manual upholstery stapler. The manual stapler will not work, even with strong hands, it is not strong enought to drive into hard woods used in furniture. One great thing about manual staplers are their affordability! DON'T BE FOOLED! These are some of the least expensive models on the market AND THEY WON'T WORK!
