The tabs are very difficult to attach to the zipper chain. I tried for 1/2 hour and contacted customer service because I thought I must have misunderstood the directions. My husband got a piece of wood to staple the chain ends to, and after about an hour, we were able to attach the first tab. Once he figured out that one end of the chain should be fractionally higher than the other, he was able to add other tabs more easily. In short, this is a good system if you are willing to invest some time in the learning curve, but not great for novices.
To get the slider on, pull apart the chain and slide the slider onto one side about 1/2". Put the other part of the chain through the slider and pinch the ends with your thumb/index finger and pull the tab on the rest of the way. Since the chain is not lined up/staggered at this point, snip the ends of the chain off.
